Deleting an escrow transaction

Delete an escrow charge or distribution with an audited reason — balances and running totals re-derive automatically.

Updated June 27, 2026

Recorded the wrong escrow charge or distribution? You can delete it outright — not just edit it — and the balances rebuild themselves.

How to delete one

  1. Open a loan and go to the Escrow tab.
  2. In Escrow Charges & Distributions, find the row.
  3. Click Delete (the trash icon).
  4. Type a reason (required, at least 5 characters — it's audited).
  5. Click Delete Transaction.

Balances re-derive automatically

When the transaction is removed, the escrow balance and the running balances on every remaining row are recalculated, so the ledger stays consistent. The deletion and your reason are written to the loan's audit trail.

Deleting is permanent. If you only need to fix an amount or date, edit the transaction instead.
