NoteHarbor keeps a year-by-year record of the property taxes you've paid out of escrow, so you can see at a glance whether each year was covered.
Where to find it
- Open a loan and click the Escrow tab.
- Scroll past Escrow Charges & Distributions to the Property Tax Pay History panel.
It fills itself in
Record a property-tax disbursement in Escrow Charges & Distributions and the matching tax year's pay-history row is created or updated automatically — flagged with an auto badge so you can tell synced amounts from ones you typed. Editing or deleting the disbursement symmetrically backs its amount out again; anything you entered by hand is never touched.
Early-year payments are attributed smartly. County tax bills are commonly paid in January (or February) for a prior tax year — so a Jan/Feb disbursement is matched to the oldest unpaid prior year (up to 5 years back), instead of opening a phantom record for the new year. Catching up a backlog? Recorded payments fill the oldest outstanding bill first. From March on, disbursements always file under their own year.
What each year shows
For every tax year the panel shows:
- Actual Tax (Billed) and Amount Paid (Paid), with a paid-in-full / overpaid / underpaid status.
- The County post date — when the county's bill is due to post — with a countdown when it's coming up.
- A paperclip to attach (or replace) the receipt for that year — PDF, JPG, PNG, or WEBP.
Pair this with the annual escrow adjustment when taxes change, so next year's monthly escrow keeps up.
