Automatic error reporting & your privacy

NoteHarbor reports technical errors automatically — scrubbed of all personal data — so problems get fixed fast without interrupting you.

Updated July 12, 2026

NoteHarbor quietly watches for technical errors so problems get fixed fast — without ever getting in your way or collecting your data.

What happens when something breaks

If a page or action hits a technical error, NoteHarbor sends a small automatic error report to the platform team in the background. You don't need to do anything; at most you'll see a friendly "Something went wrong" screen with a Try again button and an optional Report a problem box where you can add a note about what you were doing. If you add a note, it travels with the report — please don't include personal details in it.

What's in a report — and what never is

A report contains only the technical error itself: the error message, the page it happened on, and the browser type. Before anything is stored, every report passes through an aggressive privacy scrubber that redacts email addresses, anything shaped like an SSN/EIN, account-length numbers, and security tokens. Reports never include form contents, loan data, borrower information, or tax IDs — by design, the reporting pipeline has no access to them.

For platform admins

Platform staff review deduplicated reports (grouped by error, with occurrence counts) on the founder admin Watchtower panel, mark them Triaged or Fixed, and run an AI review summary over open feature requests and ticket subjects to spot themes and quick wins. Fixes always ship through the normal release process — nothing changes your account automatically.

Found a bug yourself? The fastest route is still opening a support ticket — tickets notify the founder immediately.
