Switching to NoteHarbor

Bring your loan book with you —
without re-keying a single note.

Move your existing loan book into NoteHarbor without re-keying it. The guided import reads Moneylender Pro and NoteSmith exports, servicer PDF statements, and plain CSV — then reconciles every balance to the cent before anything lands.

What the wizard reads

Bring the file you already have.

You should not have to reformat your own book to leave the software it is in. These are the shapes NoteHarbor recognizes today.

Moneylender Pro exports

File > Export Portfolio Data writes your book out as a folder of CSVs. The wizard also recognizes a Ledger Transactions, Payment History, or Amortization Schedule report on its own — including the print-formatted PDF, which we parse by shape rather than asking you to reformat it.

NoteSmith exports

Both the loan-master export and the fixed-width Payment History report. Columns auto-map, and the wizard checks its work against NoteSmith's own printed running Balance column, row by row.

A servicer's PDF statement

If all you have is the statement your servicer mails you, drop the PDF in. It is privacy-scrubbed before anything leaves the building, then a short terms interview and a checksum confirm the rebuild.

Plain CSV from anywhere

A spreadsheet you maintain by hand works too. The wizard is header-agnostic: you map the columns once, preview the result, and confirm before it touches your book.

What a migration feels like

An afternoon, and the balances agree.

  1. Upload the file

Drag in the export, the report, or the PDF. The wizard recognizes the shape and picks the right reader — you do not have to know which format you have.

  2. Map and preview

Vendor columns map themselves where we recognize them, and you set the rest. Nothing is written yet: you see the loans, the terms, and the history exactly as they will land.

  3. The balances are proved, not assumed

The importer replays the payment history in integer cents and checks it against the balances printed in your own file. A mismatch is flagged for you to look at — it is never quietly imported.

  4. Your book goes live

The engine re-projects every remaining schedule from the real balance, the waterfall applies going forward, and your audit trail starts the moment you land.

Coming from something specific?

Each comparison lays out where NoteHarbor differs, where the two products match, and who should not switch.

Migration questions, answered.

Will my full payment history come over, or just current balances?

Both. You can import years of history as real ledger records, and the wizard reconciles them cent-exact against the balances your existing file prints. If you would rather start from today's balance, that works too — the engine re-projects the remaining schedule either way.

What if my export does not match any of these formats?

Map it as a CSV. The wizard is header-agnostic, so any spreadsheet with one row per loan can be mapped once and imported. If you get stuck, NoteHarbor support will look at the file with you.

Can I try the import before I commit to anything?

Yes. Start a 30-day free trial, run the import, and look at the result — the preview and checksum steps happen before anything is written, and you can throw a trial import away and start over.

Do I have to stop servicing while I migrate?

No. Most note holders import their book in an afternoon and keep their old system readable until they are satisfied the balances agree. Nothing about the import reaches back into the software you are leaving.

Is there anything that does not come across?

Anything your export does not contain. Documents and attachments come over separately, and vendor-specific settings that have no equivalent here are surfaced during mapping rather than silently dropped. The preview is the honest answer for your particular file.

Try it with your own file.

Start a 30-day free trial, run the import, and look at the preview before anything is written. If the balances do not agree, the wizard tells you.
