Subject-to loans & tracking the underlying login

Capture the underlying mortgage, the takeover date, and the servicer login (encrypted).

Updated June 19, 2026

When you create a loan subject-to an existing mortgage, NoteHarbor auto-creates the underlying liability loan and links it. You enter the underlying balance, rate, term, payment, dates, and the date you took the loan over for accurate amortization.

The underlying login

On a subject-to loan, the Underlying loan login card stores the underlying servicer's portal URL, username, and password so you can keep paying it. The password is encrypted at rest (AES-256-GCM) and only revealed to an Owner/Admin.

Duplicate-address guard

While entering the property address, NoteHarbor warns you if it resembles a property you already have — so you don't accidentally tie two loans to the same address.
